For the budget they had, I thought it was well-executed, with good pacing and an interesting storyline. Beneath the surface, if examined honestly, the film carried themes of arms dealing and Russian oligarchs. But Best Picture? Best Actress? Give me a break. In retrospect, it was too prurient and lowbrow. The relentless focus on the sex trade and near-pornographic scenes only serves as a grim reflection of how far we've fallen as a society. Two hours wasted, and a soul-staining assault on one's character—much like the prostitute whose life unfolded on the silver screen.

Conclave could be best described as an average movie. While some dramatic elements left you wanting an answer, the answers came too quick and it seemed like the script wasn't really hashed out or given opportunity to explore. The cinematography and acting from most of the cast (Fiennes, Lithgow and Msamati being standouts) was the highlight of the film, though this clearly was not a role for Stanley Tucci.

"A Million Ways to Die in the West" is an absolutely hilarious film that will leave you laughing from start to finish. The movie is a perfect blend of comedy, action, and romance, all set in the Wild West. The film's humor is clever and witty, and the cast delivers their lines with perfect timing and delivery. Seth MacFarlane, who also directed and co-wrote the film, plays the lead character, Albert, a sheep farmer who is a bit of a coward. He is joined by an all-star cast, including Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, and Neil Patrick Harris. Each actor brings their own unique style to the film, making it a true ensemble masterpiece. The movie is full of hilarious moments, including a scene where Albert and his friend Edward (played by Giovanni Ribisi) attend a county fair and witness a hilarious demonstration of the effects of alcohol. The humor is smart, and the cast is outstanding, making it a must-see for anyone who loves a good comedy.

This is a jolly, fun, colorful and of course family friendly sequel to the original 1960s Mary Poppins film. It features (like the original film) a mix of animation and live action scenes and various irritatingly catchy tunes (you've been warned, parents). It's certainly an entertaining watch - this is a solid piece of good family entertainment, which I imagine pretty much all fans of the original film will enjoy, certainly in parts, if not in full. Of course, it's also very much sentimental and unsurprisingly cheesy (but of course!), with some pretty predictable plot aspects but I suppose that's pretty much to be expected. As Disney films like this go, it's well worth a watch if you're interested, I reckon, so yes, I'd recommend it, although I wouldn't necessarily say it's the best of recent Disney films, it's by no means bad either. (also, finally, I couldn't quite figure out (certainly on first watching) what the symbolism was of the sailor and the boat.

They don't make 'em like this anymore! This sequel to the 1964 classic is pure joy from start to finish, although I think it will appeal more to the nostalgia in us older folks than the Teen Titan tykes of today. Emily Blunt's casting is perfection, creating a Mary that feels a bit more Maggie Smith than Julie Andrews. It is a fantastic movie star performance, and I hope she is recognized by the Academy. It's a hair bit long, but some of the musical numbers are sheer magic, and the live action/animated sequence is one of my favorites of the year. A special shout out to Whishaw who in many ways holds this film together. One of the best movies of the year! And no - I don't think you necessarily have to see the original to enjoy this one. But it wouldn't hurt.
